That is an interesting amount of fire coming off the top of this guy. Almost as if the fire and the guy are from different sources. 
Looking around the site that this image came from, I found a podcast dealing with flag burning. The audio quality isn’t the best (his P’s are popping), but the author does agree that the US constitution should not be amended to ban flag burning. He thinks people who burn the flag are jackasses, but that people have the right to be a jackass. I’m not in favour of his “decriminalize the beating of flag burners” policy though.

Ok, first of all if you want to burn a flag as a form of protest go ahead… it is legal. Second off I am an American and I love my country but I do not think any country is better then another. Lastly I think all flags would burn at the same pace (under the same conditions). But, hey if you would like to fight, bicker, and argue over stupid crap then go ahead… you are aloud to and that is the amazing part of having two hands a computer and living on Earth.
One more thing, I do not know what is up with all the American “Patriots” that are so fucking violent, but give it a brake. If they want to burn our flag it is fine… just go buy one of their’s and burn it and send them a video and you guys can be flag-burning buddies. (and really I think that killing someone just because they burned my flag is a little irrational… but punching in the face is not.)

I’m an american and I don’t think people understand what burning a flag in protest means. Its a hyperbole and a metaphor for the feelings he or she has towards the country the flag represents. So when someone burns a flag at a war protest for instance he or she is showing how terrible america is for starting an unjust war. It gets peoples attencion and sends the message that what they are saying is important. So I would like to thank all of you for showing your support of the flag burners by noticing, thinking, and responding to their message. They clearly did their job.
